Training Courses

The Hot Shots Seminar Series is back with a one-day introductory Flex course on March 21st, 2008 in Brighton, UK (Hove, actually!)

Aral's enthusiasm is contagious. The seminars far-exceed my expectations, and I was left feeling both excited and empowered. There was a great deal of information to take in, but it was conveyed in an expert and manageable manner, and all backed up with impressive real world examples. We didn’t just learn what to do, but why we were doing it. I only wished I'd signed up for all the seminars – next time I will”

I can also train your team at your premises, both in the UK and internationally. Contact me for more information on on-site training services.

Consulting

I'm also available, through Ariaware, to consult with you or your company.

The consulting services I offer include team building, development process, project kick-starts and reviews, usability design, usability testing and best practices for Rich Internet Application development with Flash and Flex.

As an example of the type of services I provide, I recently kick-started an RIA project to build a car configurator web site for Eight Media, a small development firm in the Netherlands. I consulted with the team to carry out the conceptual design/architecture of the application (including use of Arp), implement their development process (including Usability Testing) and identify and provide solutions for key decisions and risk areas.

For another of my clients, Bromcom PLC, I carried out a usability review of their line of desktop, web and mobile applications and produced comprehensive branding and usability guidelines to integrate the three lines of products, providing a consistent interface for users to facilitate better usability within each specific product as well as knowledge reuse across related products on different platforms. I also held a company-wide seminar and produced a roadmap to transition the company from their traditional waterfall development process to User Centered Product Development and Agile Development with eXtreme Programming (the combination of which I call User-Centered Agile Product Development -- a topic that I have presented on at several key international conferences.)

Community and Open Source

Finally, I would urge you to become familiar with the various community initiatives that I've launched and sponsor through Ariaware. These include OSFlash, a resource site and a suite of free tools to enable Flash developers to collaborate on and produce open source projects and Arp.

Drop me a line to discuss your needs or take a look around our site to learn more about the company and what we do.

Best Regards,
