[Arp] ARP success story

Using FDT with Eclipse is very efficient and has a ton of features. We
are using the same approach (Asset SWFs, separate AS files for the code)
and use Aral's ARP as the framework. Parsing works great, along with
code hinting and error display. FDT has a bunch of coding features that
help during development such as marking instances of a method or
property you are on throughout the document, and looking up a
declaration for a class or method, even opening the associate class file
if it's not open. Very nice. Reminds me a lot of the Visual Studio .NET
IDE.

Not having any experience with FlashDevelop, I can't compare them. Just
wanted to post a quick note about FDT. :-)

Code completion is better, the fact it understands how we develop flash
(swf with assets, swf with code), its fast, its light etc... My main
thing is code completion is much better and the as parser is very good.
I'm not sure how it compares to FDT as I don't have that, but I use
eclipse for JAVA work and like it other than the speed and memory
footprint.

Hey Grant,

about Flash Develop, do you have specific points where it is better than
the eclipse environment with asdt or fdt?

cheers,
Christophe
