Hi Aral,

I was just reading
http://www.osflash.org/pipermail/osflash_osflash.org/2005-October/004386.html  and
couldn't agree with you more.   Instead of YAPL, why not compile Ruby to
SWF.  And even though I'm well aware of the reasons (intellisense stuff,
bring in java programmers)), I'm not all that enthusiastic about
actionscript 3.  Ruby on Rails and Ruby on Flash = ruby throughout the
stack is an exciting concept - so much so that I've broke out some
compiler books.  The code from MATSC or YARV (the new Ruby VM) and Ruby
on Ruby could probably make this a reality in not too painful of a time
frame (at least a subset of Ruby), kindof like what the XAMLON C# IL to
SWF compiler.
